In a unique cooperative venture, crime prevention organizations have joined forces with security industry force in a prevention initiative centering on the security and safety of America's schools, under the umbrella of the National Crime Prevention Council, the National Safety and Security Council(NSSC) - kicked off a long-term campaign called Be Safe & Sound. It will bring more attention to school security as well as encourage parents and educators to engage in the issue and share solutions now. Key players in the program include the companies of ASSA ABLOY North America, the Allstate Foundation and Safe Schools Solutions. A recent survey conducted by the National Association of School Resource Officers has released a study that shows the vulnerability of schools.
