Before a man jumped from a 12-story building in November, he sent an email that was visible to hundreds of co-worker. The employee expressed criticism of how the company handled his request to transfer departments and hinted that he might harm himself. When the man’s request was turned down, he was instead put on an employee improvement plan that can lead to termination if performance isn’t improved. Dissatisfied, he made the jump in an attempt to join the 41,149 people who took their lives in 2016. The man survived.
