After telling a nurse his blood type and organ donor status, a 23-year-old man committed suicide at Hendrick Medical Center, Abilene, Texas. The victim was treated by medical staff, but died about 20 minutes after he shot himself. The hospital and Abilene Police Department are offering counseling and support to both witnesses and staff.
