Federal Locksmiths Background Checks. A bill (H.R. 1407) introduced by Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) would require that locksmiths working for the executive or judicial branch of the federal government undergo a criminal history background check. The bill would also require that locksmiths be accredited by a nationally recognized agency. H.R. 1407 has no cosponsors and has been referred to the House Committee on Government.
