Student Shot at New Jersey High School
A student brought a handgun past police and security officials at Lincoln High School in Jersey City, NJ, and shot a fellow student in the stomach in late October.
According to police, the 15-year-old shooter and his weapon were able to bypass detection by handheld metal detectors that security guards and police officers assigned to the school use at random on its 1,200 students.
The student shooter has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm in an educational institution and possession of a prohibited weapon.
