Illinois Violence Prevention Authority (IVPA)

The IVPA is a unique state agency in Illinois created to take a combined public health and public safety approach to the prevention of all forms of interpersonal violence. The IVPA makes grants to support community violence prevention efforts utilizing funds raised from the sale of special state issued Prevention Violence license plates. The Awareness Campaign was developed to educate Illinois citizens about the IVPA and to encourage them to participate in local prevention efforts, including purchase of the PV license plate.
